Blackbaud’s chief scientist Chuck Longfield has spent more than 25 years working with nonprofits to improve their fundraising results. He’s a very popular speaker and one of the best people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with.
Understanding donor passion is something Chuck believes is vitally important for nonprofits to succeed. He also has proven time and time again how simply calling donors and asking them why they gave can be tremendously valuable.
Chuck recently spoke at the Institute of Fundraising’s National Convention in London. Howard Lake from Fundraising UK recorded a portion of Chuck’s presentation and posted it online. Here are two very good videos worth watching:
Do you have a donor love meter? Do you do anything with it? Why not? When is the last time you called a donor to ask them why they gave? Why not?
This all sounds very simple — because it is. So what is stopping you from doing something that does improve results?
