So, it’s pretty tough to leave me speechless, but that’s what happened when the Run Walk Ride Fundraising Council awarded Free to Breath with the Pacesetter award for best video. WOW. I wasn’t the only one wowed, the entire room of peer-to-peer event directors, managers, marketers and vendors were left speechless.
I’m a big advocate of letting our constituents speak for us, I actually wrote a post about it last year. Remember, I was captivated by a certain insurance spokesperson [defunct link removed]? There stories are far more inspiring than a bunch of stats. Jeff Shuck, Event 360, shares this same philosophy and spoke about it during is informative and of course entertaining session. I think it’s time for Jeff to make a guest appearance on my blog. Maybe he’ll tell you why shampoo at Target costs $114.
Hey Jeff – My list of items I bought at Target was simply this – I have no idea, but I know I bought a ton of stuff I didn’t need and didn’t intend to buy when I entered the store. Oh wait. I remember I went to Target for cat food. Why does cat food cost $157?
Back to Free to Breathe. I just had to share their PSA with you. I’ve seen a few PSA’s in my day and this one left me speechless, stunned and amazed. Way to go Free to Breathe! Congratulation on your award and props to your creativity.

I’d love to come on and explain to everyone why cat food always ends up over $150! Great to see you and I agree, great conference!
Awesome. Looking forward to a Jeff Shuck guest post
Thanks so much for the kind words, Amy! I’m so glad to hear the video went over well at the conference. We had a fantastic time shooting it. All the people at the shoot were volunteers; we are still so incredibly grateful for the amount of community support we were able to garner to make this video a reality. It’s truly amazing to see what can result from a community coming together to support a cause close to their hearts!
