Hello and welcome to Friends Asking Amy! First things first, let’s get fundraising rule number one out of the way. Here it goes. There are no rules. Prior to joining Blackbaud, I managed local and national events for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Alzheimer’s Association and Share Our Strength. While organizations are different, they all have one thing in common. That’s to do more with less. As a member of the development team we were always asked to make each event more spectacular than the previous years’, but with no additional resources.
I created Friends Asking Amy to be a resource for event fundraisers. With help from my fundraising friends, we’ll be sharing ideas you can implement into your events, updates and information on current trends we’re seeing in the marketplace and answering your questions. Check out my first couple posts and let me know what you think. Please share your comments, thoughts and ideas.
