Yesterday at Social Media Week in New York City we hosted “Is three a crowd?” a panel conversation about third-party fundraising sites. Guest panelists Nakia and Daniel along with Convio team member, Jen, shared research and first hand experiences, mostly focusing on Jumo, Crowdrise and Causes but also discussing general best practices for social media – fundraising sites or otherwise.
At the end of the day, we suggested that before you dive into a third-party fundraising platform, you ask yourself three questions:
- Does it make sense for your organization?
- Can you leverage existing content?
- Can you access the individual fundraisers and donors for further cultivation?
