“You should really have a #GivingTuesday stewardship plan.” Yes! Planning for December in August 🙂

  • KaLeigh says:

I appreciate the stewardship points. AT times, you just focus on the day, and you need a breath after it’s all over. You can’t forget about the wonderful people who helped you make that day successful!

  • Cathy says:

Giving Tuesday — “a global day of kindness, a way that you can connect with others, share your heart…” Looking forward to our very first Giving Tuesday campaign this year! Thanks for the encouragement.

    Wow, great podcast!! Thank you!!

  • Amy D. says:

I like the idea of looking at Giving Tuesday as the kick-off to the end-of-year giving.

  • Shelly Gammieri says:

In our market, we have a really large community giving day each year in mid-September. How might that affect the plan we create for Giving Tuesday? Would it be confusing for our constituents to have multiple days for giving each year -with two in one season?

    • Tanya Fitzgerald, CFRE says:

      Hi Shelly-

This is a wonderful question and I can understand your concern. Donor fatigue can be a real issue and you don’t want to neglect either giving day. May I suggest highlighting an impactful story on your giving day in September and then on #GivingTuesday highlighting an update to that story (or maybe even in Oct) and so on for your EOY campaign. This way the donors feel that they are getting the details of one story as the impacts unfold. You can even put in your communication(s), “stay tuned for our next update…” This way your supporters know that you will be reaching back out and they can see the good you are doing while validating their original gift or it encourages them to give b/c they can see the difference you are making by unveiling this in a multi-communicative way. This would help with the feeling of over communicating as well b/c they will want to hear from you b/c they want to know how this impactful story ends.

Let me know if you have any specific questions, we can brainstorm together and good luck.
